Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) continue to be valuable members of our nation. Despite their many contributions to our society and communities, prejudice and even laws have been against them. The Page Act of 1875, the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882, Executive Order 9066 for Japanese Internment are a few examples of legal xenophobia. In the 1960s-1970s fear of Asian food was sensationalized by a now-debunked paper claiming monosodium glutamate (MSG) was a danger. Since the spread of COVID-19, Asian hate has again been on the rise. We will continue to support organizations that work to combat AAPI hate.
We believe that through thoughts, deeds, and actions, together, we can stop Asian hate.
